Writing Articles - Will The Buzz Stop?

By Felton Thompkins

Let me start off by saying that if you are not writing articles, you are missing out on a ton of exposure for your websites and/or affiliate programs.

Now, with that being said, let's get to addressing the question Writing Articles - Will The Buzz Stop? As you very well know, I could give you my answer to this question in a few words or less, but what would be the fun in that?

When I first started out in this business of Internet Marketing the idea of writing articles was a very scary thought. I thought to myself, Hum....writing articles, there has to be a way of getting out of doing this. Yet as time progressed and as I waited to see my website get indexed on the search engines - you know the ones that I'm talking about, Google, Yahoo, MSN, AllTheWeb, etc - I waited and I waited but to no avail. Does that sound familiar? Is this something that you are experiencing in your Internet Marketing venture? If the answer is yes, you owe it to yourself to keep reading this article.

Every website or affiliate program must have exposure. Exposure means traffic, and traffic means profits. Those profits can come in the form of money being received for a product or service you are offering, or that profit could come in the sense of you knowing that you have made a difference in the lives of the people that have gained access to some vital information that you have published.

Regardless of how long you have been an affiliate or a website owner, one of the main things that you are constantly thinking about is this: How many clicks or how much traffic is my offer generating? Well, the website or affiliate program in itself will not generate clicks or traffic. You have to point people, or should I say your prospects, to the offer. Let's look briefly at some strategies of driving that traffic to your website, and/or generating clicks for your offer.

First- Solo Ads Second- Pay Per Click Third- Classified Ads Fourth- Writing Articles

First - The Solo Ad: The Solo Ad (also known as ezine ad) is similar to writing an article, at least as far as word count goes. The Solo Ad is just that; when it is published by the ezine publisher it should be a stand- alone advertisement benefiting and pointing to your website or affiliate program, with no surrounding competitors. This type of advertising will cost you, starting at around $40 or $50 for a good one. It's only run for a limited time, yet it can be very beneficial if done right.

Second - Pay Per Click: The Pay Per Click advertisement is just that also. With Pay Per Click the advertiser or publisher pays only as prospective buyers click on their advertisement or offer. Some say that those that have the huge advertising budgets have ruined the Pay Per Click service. Though this may be true for the most part, you can still benefit from Pay Per Click services with the proper research and planning.

Third - Classified Ads: The Classified Ad has been around as long as the daily news paper itself, only now classifieds are being published all over the internet. This way of advertising is by far the cheapest way to go when it comes to paid advertisement. Classified Ads are usually about 3-4 lines in length briefly describing your offer. Of course there are some free classifieds that you can publish in. These are also run for a limited time if you do not renew them.

Fourth - Writing Articles: Writing Articles is truly just about everlasting. Once you have written an article and it gets published by an ezine or an article directory, you can expect to see it being indexed by the search engines, sometimes in as little as 24 hours and that’s a fact! As I stated earlier, when I first started out in this business of Internet Marketing, the idea of writing articles was just plain-ole scary. You may be fearful also, and that's alright, it does not take away what you have to offer, and it does not reduce you to being less than who you are. Fear is a part of life, we just have to take courage - Joshua:1:9 - and move on.

When I say just about everlasting, that’s right! The first article that I wrote (I Learned the Hard Way, Now You Don't Have To…Three Steps to Profits) is still indexed on just about all of the major search engines to this day. That's just one of the benefits of writing articles. Here are a few more: they are free to submit and they create links pointing back to your website or affiliate program. This is called link popularity. Oh! Did I mention articles are FREE to submit? Submitting articles will cause you to get higher search engine rankings. The more you submit the more relevant your website or program becomes. Search engines feed on content and they feed on relevant content. The more we give the search engines what they want, the more we are rewarded with more exposure, and that exposure turns into traffic, and need I say what targeted traffic turns into? You guessed it $$$$, and the great pleasure of knowing that you truly made somebody’s life a little bit easier. So let's write and have fun with it. Peace and Prosperity!
